Sharing My Story with Stratford Literary Festival 2017 - Picking up my copy from Waterstones
Last week I picked up a copy of the book I have been wanting to see and read. It was called Sharing Stories and my short story of Benji The Bad Scout was featured in it. Page 15 to be precise!
Mum picked me up after school and my bestie Mia, came with me for the occasion. I had Waterstones vouchers sent from Grandparents, this had been burning a hole in my pocket for a little time now and so I thought I would now get the chance to use it.
I was very excited, like nervous excited, I had been in Waterstones lots to get other books and creative writing help books, but this was actually a book my story was in - EEK.
I didn't know where to look in the store but Mum sniffed it out like a Pug looking for a buried treat. Once found we bumbled over each other to get to the display, tripping over each other and making silly noises. When I paid for all the books (grandparent copies) I told the man that my story of Benji was in it and he congratulated me. I was most happy.
I couldn't wait to read it and started reading it on the way home. Its a great book full of poems and short stories, well worth a read.
Well done Ella! I loved the description of your Mum sniffing the book out 'like a Pug looking for a buried treat'!! Make me chuckle :)
