The Snow Queen and P J Lynch
Did you catch this on TV earlier today?
It's Christmas time, so TV is filled with films, so many of the films you will watch would have been written by the godfather of fairy tales.
Written by Hans Christian Andersen, this tale was first published 21 December 1844 in New Fairy Tales. The date this story was published makes it all the more Christmassy.
This book, which is my very own copy, was illustrated by P J Lynch, his illustrations are very detailed and I really enjoy looking at them as they help to tell the story well. Isn't very often you find such detailed illustrations all the way through a book, but this is fantastic in this book and really helps to bring he story alive.
My favourite part of this story are the illustrations, although I like the Snow Queen as a story the pictures are something I stare at and take inspiration a lot.
The illustrations below are some of my favourite ones, I thought I would share the one where it looks like my mum is getting the knots out of my hair! (Well, okay the likeness is more of me as the girl character).
